Mastectomy

Mastectomy reconstruction is a surgical procedure aimed at restoring the natural appearance of the breasts following mastectomy, the surgical removal of one or both breasts. Unilateral Mastectomy Reconstruction

This 40-year-old patient was diagnosed with right breast DCIS spanning approximately 4 cm. She had previously undergone cosmetic breast augmentation and decided to proceed with a unilateral right mastectomy, accompanied by immediate breast reconstruction. Once the mastectomy was complete, Dr. Savalia inserted a tissue expander and acellular dermal matrix for the right breast. Four months subsequent to this, the patient revisited the operating room, where the right tissue expander was replaced with a breast implant.

Bilateral Mastectomy Reconstruction

This 40-year-old patient was diagnosed with left breast cancer and underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Following the completion of chemotherapy, she was brought to the operating room for bilateral mastectomies. After the mastectomies, Dr. Savalia placed tissue expanders and acellular dermal matrix bilaterally. Three months later, Dr. Savalia exchanged the tissue expanders for permanent prostheses.

Bilateral Mastectomy Reconstruction and Areola Tattoos

This 48-year-old patient was diagnosed with left breast cancer, which led her to opt for bilateral mastectomies. After the procedures, Dr. Savalia inserted tissue expanders and acellular dermal matrices into both breasts. Three months later, she returned to the operating room for the second stage of her breast reconstruction, where Dr. Savalia replaced her tissue expanders with permanent prostheses.

Simultaneous Bilateral Breast Lifts and Mastectomy with Reconstruction

This 45-year-old patient was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer. After consulting with her breast surgeon, she chose to undergo bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies. Post-mastectomy, Dr. Savalia lifted her breasts to elevate her nipples and areolae to a more symmetrical position, then inserted tissue expanders and acellular dermal matrix in both breasts. Four months later, she had her second-stage surgery, where the tissue expanders were exchanged for silicone implants, accompanied by fat grafting.

Bilateral Prophylactic Mastectomies for BRCA1

This 38-year-old patient opted for bilateral prophylactic nipple-sparing mastectomies after a diagnosis of genetic predisposition to breast cancer development. Following the mastectomies, Dr. Savalia inserted tissue expanders and acellular dermal matrix on both sides. Approximately five months post-op, the patient underwent surgery to replace the tissue expanders with silicone implants.
